Gareth Foy

Gareth Foy is a professional freelance composer/pianist and Leeds College of Music graduate based in the UK. Gareth has been performing throughout the UK and also composing for many years. Composition has always been at the forefront of his musical career. During his musical education, Gareth was lucky enough to study composition under arrangers and composers such as John Harper, Rob Gibney, Didrik Ingvaldsen, Mark Donlon, Trevor Vincent and Les Chisnall. During his time at the Liverpool Arts Centre and Leeds College of Music, he composed for a vast array of artists and ensembles ranging from small band to a full orchestra. Gareth uses a subtle blend of synthetic and live instruments, which creates an interesting and unique orchestral sound.

Since 2005, Gareth has been working with the Liverpool based independent film company, Shivilenco Pictures. Together with film director Colin Hives, he has worked on many productions. The current major projects include two feature length films, "The Burial Men" and "Jimmy Wilde". These two films are due for completion soon.

Gareth has also been working with many students from the Northern Film School based in Leeds. The most recent works are with NFS director, Vito Bruno on his latest film short, "Breaking the Silence" and NFS director Adrian Larkin, on a short TV advert for vigorsol.
